Burgos Provincial Council launches a cardioprotection project in rural areas
Burgos Provincial Council has launched an ambitious cardioprotection project in municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants, with the aim of strengthening the capacity to respond to cardiac emergencies in rural areas.
The initiative includes the training of 608 people and the installation of 304 Reanibex 100 semi-automatic defibrillators, which will be deployed across 124 town councils and 168 smaller local entities in the province. Each device will be accompanied by a CPR kit, cabinet, explanatory signage, installation service and mandatory training for non-healthcare personnel.
A project with an impact on the territory
This deployment responds to the need to bring cardioprotection closer to areas where the distance to healthcare centres can be significant. In these contexts, immediate action is key, as for every minute without starting cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, the probability of survival decreases by approximately 10%.
The project not only facilitates access to defibrillators, but also strengthens the preparedness of the people who may intervene in an emergency, helping to improve safety across the territory.
This programme is being developed with the participation of Bexen Cardio, which is collaborating in the supply, installation and training, supporting institutions in the deployment of comprehensive cardioprotection solutions adapted to the needs of rural areas.Burgos Provincial Government
